I think nowadays all the young people like listening to the music. Well, I'm not the exception, I can't imagine my day without my favourite songs. Moreover, the first thing I do when I get up is turning on my player=)The question: what are the main criterias for you to like the song or hate it? The answer: music makes the first impression of the song, if we're satisfied with the rythm, we keep listening and analyze the lyrics. Many modern songs don't contain any smart ideas at all, some of them hardly contain a full sentence. But this doesn't affect the popularity of such songs if they have a cheerful tune.For me lyrics is very, very important, because I hate silly songs about nothing.So, I just wanted to share some of the songs with serious ideas and the real meaning:

Films That Impress

Actually, I don’t like going to cinema a lot, I’d rather watch a movie online lying on the bed and drinking tea=) I’m also really demanding to the films I watch, I like the ones with catching storyline, the ones that make me think about what I’ve just seen, not regreting that it was a waste of time. Another thing is the atmosphere of each film, so you feel yourself the part of the story. This atmosphere can be cheerful, mysterious or even gloomy, but without it the film is really flat, lifeless. I’m also sure that films have to leave some emotions inside after watching them, again, positive or negative, but if they do, they won’t be forgotten, like a lot of high-budget meaningless movies coming every day.

Well, here are the descriptions of some films that made a real impression on me:

“The Illusionist” (2006)

“Nothing is what it seems “

A wonderful, positive movie about the illusionist Eisenheim (Edward Norton). The whole atmosphere is absolutely magical, mesmerizing, it’s beyond the usual boring life, there are so many things happening, though they are meant to be just illusions, they are considered as miracles. The soundtrack supports the atmosphere, it’s great. Honestly, when I was watching it I didn’t understand why people at different forums called it “positive”, or the best “love story”, because the end seemed to be tragic as I tried to guess . But it’s a magic film, so the end of it turned to be the most unexpectable and the happiest. Love and magic finally won. The love story is really affecting. I liked the final phrase of the main character, he was asked: “Why did you do that?”, and he said: “Just to be with her”.

This movie is just breathtaking, the storyline catches you from the first minutes and holds till the end. It’s the kind of film you want to watch again. And again…

“Sid And Nancy” (1986)

“Love Kills”

Strange that despite I’ve always wanted to watch this film, I actually did it only few months ago. At that time I became really interested in the biography and the story of Sid Vicious, bassist of British punk group the Sex Pistols, and his girlfriend Nancy Spungen. Their story is really tragic and their deaths are mysterious. So the film is based on that real events. And the film is really brilliant, because after watching videos with real Sid and Nancy on the YouTube, I still wondered if there were actors or real Sid and Nancy playing themselves in the movie. It’s hard to imagine someone else playing Sid except young Gary Oldman, he totally felt his character, he played like lived. Probably the only thing I I’m not sure was right is choosing the actress Chloe Webb for Nancy. It’s not like she failed her role, no, she did well, but her appearance was different from real Nancy’s look, it’s obvious.

I think this film is so popular firstly because of the great director’s job, then excellent actors’ play, then interesting storyline. And again, the movie has a strong atmosphere of that years, spread of the punk culture in Britain, the taste of freedom, madness, chaos, self-expression for youth, and all dangers and temtations: alcohol, drugs. And among all that the love story of Sid and Nancy, who can’t get rid of heroine addiction and actually ruin their lifes together.

I can’t say this film is for everyone, it’s rather specific and mostly for those who are really interested in the punk culture, and in the love story of Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen, which I, personally, find tragic and gloomy, but beautiful.

Ice Skating

Skating brings me a lot of pleasure, it’s probably the first sport that I like so much, that ready to do every day. Unfortunately we don’t have many skating rinks in Almaty, since Medeo was closed for restavration works. But there’s one rink near the Almaty Circus that works during the whole year, and even on Summer. Of course, it’s not as large as Medeo, but it’s advantage is that it continues working when it’s getting warm outside, due to special construction, that maintains temperature and prevents ice from melting. So, it’s not a problem to go to the rink and enjoy skating at any time of the year.

Ok, and what about skates? Which ones are to choose? Well, there are several types of skates:

The figured skates

Already throughout many years the skates for figure skating keep classical design. Today they become both from a genuine leather, and from synthetic with the special processing guaranteeing water resistance. For an internal surface the natural or artificial suede providing fixing stops during driving, a synthetic skin or special not sliding materials, synthetic fur is used.

Inserts at level of anklebones protect a foot from lateral blows. Under an ankle you will feel advantages of soft inserts-small pillows in an hour of driving: feet will densely, but are softly fixed and, hence, won’t get tired. The hockey skates

Besides, hi-tech materials of an internal part possess the raised wear resistance. The special anatomic insole not simply supports the foot arch, but also provides the most effective transfer of force of movement from foot to a blade.
The price for the hockey skates is higher than for the figured ones, because of higher complexity of execution and level of requirements. Hockey Nordway for beginners will cost nearby $50 – $60. Models Graf – from $100, Canadian CCM and Bauer – from $150 and above.

Several advices:

During the skating the foot should be well fixed in a boot. The clothes should be not too warm, comfortable, and thus to protect from a wind. The most important thing in skating – ability to fall. Falling backwards is very dangerous which is fraught with heavy bruises of a head – therefore while skating, slightly bend forward. Hands hold balance, but at falling do not expose them, and try to be grouped and fall sideways «with a rift». And don’t be afraid of fallings, beause they are inevitable while learning to skate really good. Good luck)
